BIN-08 WebQuest Quiz 1: Three Hundred Pesos

Introduction

In the previous course and in this class we have been studying different short stories to get familiar with the fundamentals of fiction and story-telling. In order to start using the blogs you have created for this class, you will research about Manuela Williams Crosno (1905-1977) and his short story entitled, "Three Hundred Pesos," a story that seems to take place in New Mexico.


Task

This pre-blogging activity will help you know about Ms. Crosno and her literary work. You will have a week to analyze her chosen story, and prepare your posts for your blog. You will have to analyze the story thoroughly to accomplish what you are required below.


Process

To start getting ready for your blogging which is going to be your Quiz #1, you are to work individually or take some time to get together with one of your peers to discuss what the story is about.

While you develop the task and look for information to complete it, try to answer these questions or issues that must be overtly answered in your blog.

  1. Entitle your blog entry as "Three Hundred Pesos:" Story Analysis
  2. Please insert an author's picture, or something that illustrates the story background
  3. Provide a short summary of her biography (No more than a five-sentence paragraph, and please use the information on your textbook on page 42)
  4. Include your own summary of the story in a five-sentence paragraph
  5. Analyze the story's plot: conflict, rising action, climax, and resolution
  6. Analyze all the characters in the story by providing their physical and psychological traits
  7. Identify the moral or teaching of the story
  8. State whether you like the story or not in a five-sentence paragraph
